Speak Up About Technology
Now, as the district considers the next six years of technology needs in the district, there’s no better time to speak up and let us know what your priorities are.
Now through December 18th, 2009, you can make your voice heard in a poll that asks important questions about technology, science and 21st-century skills. Students, educators, and parents from around the country are participating in this national online survey, which will provide important feedback at the national level and here in Federal Way’s schools.
The information is valuable in helping the district identify the priorities of students, parents, teachers, and administrators when it comes to technology in our schools. What’s working well? What do we need to add or provide differently? What skills do our students need to gain before they leave our school?
The district also participated in this survey last year, and the findings helped guide discussions with the district’s Community Advisory Group about the upcoming Tech Levy proposal.
To participate, log on to:
http://www.speakup4schools.org/speakup2009, and choose the survey option that applies to you: Student, Parent or Teacher/Administrator*. Then select your state and school. If you work at a site other than a school, enter “district”. When prompted, enter the password – “fwps”.
For more information about the online survey please go to http://www.tomorrow.org/speakup/index.html.
* The teacher selection includes options for a wide range of positions including librarians, media specialists, paraprofessionals, aides and others. The administrator option includes guidance counselors, tech support staff, and school board members.
