Recruitment and Selection - 5000

Staff positions are created, within budget parameters and legal requirements, by the Superintendent and are approved by the Board. Such positions are established to provide the district’s comprehensive program of education.

The Superintendent or designee establishes the skills, competencies, qualifications, education, experience and performance levels necessary for each position.

The Superintendent or designee shall publicize vacant positions, solicit applications from qualified candidates and allocate time and resources to recruit and screen prospective staff. The Superintendent or designee shall select the best qualified candidate for each position.

Current employees may apply for posted positions for which they are interested and qualified.

The Superintendent shall regularly review the effectiveness of the district’s recruitment and selection processes and shall recommend changes to the Board as may be necessary to improve the process.
