Inter-Building Communications - 4309

It is the responsibility of the Superintendent/designee to prevent misuse of the district’s inter-building communications system. Individuals or groups not employed by the district, wishing to distribute written or printed materials to students or staff members within a building or district-wide, must submit such materials in advance to the Superintendent/designee for approval.

Individuals or organizations employed by the district will be permitted to distribute materials to fellow employees, with prior approval, provided that they exercise integrity and prudence in selecting materials to be distributed. The distribution procedure will be the same as outside groups/individuals.

Abuse of this privilege by the distribution of offensive, slanderous, or intentionally misleading material shall be sufficient cause for denial of further use of inter-school mails by the offending individual or organization. The decision to revoke this privilege shall be the responsibility of the Superintendent/designee. Said individuals or organizations, upon being informed of termination of mailing privileges, shall have the right of appeal to the Board, whose decision shall be final.

All materials to be distributed must be identified with the sponsoring individual or group name. Official material will always have priority and at such time that the amount of unofficial material overloads the system, distribution may be terminated.
