Citizens’ Advisory Committees and Task Forces - 4220
The Superintendent and/or Board may appoint a citizens' advisory committee or task force as necessary to gather public input and/or establish interaction with the community about selected issues. The committee shall study school matters and submit their findings to the Superintendent and/or Board. This committee shall be formed by authorization of the Board. Such authorization shall include a description of the responsibilities and reporting relationships and shall specify the duration of the committee's existence.
Standing Committees
No individual Board member and no group comprised of less than the full Board membership shall be designated as a permanent committee to perform any of the Board's functions except those for which state law requires signatories.
Temporary Committees
At the request of the Board, the Superintendent/designee shall appoint temporary committees for fact finding and advisory functions.
- Committees should be representative of the stakeholders of the district.
- All committee meetings will be open to the public and shall be held at times, approved by the Superintendent/designee, that facilitate and encourage citizen participation.
- Board members may identify potential members for committees working on educational programs and district policy.
- Final committee membership shall be the decision of the Superintendent/designee.
