Angela Griffin was appointed to the Board in June 2008. She has lived in Federal Way for four years and has three children attending district schools. She serves as a parent partner with the Federal Way Public Schools Family Partnership Office, building and maintaining effective relationships between parents, community and staff so that every student can succeed. She is also a mentor with the district's Leading Ladies International program, which works to inspire girls at Saghalie middle school to achieve in academics, socially and through community service.
As a board member, she draws on 16 years of experience in working with families and children, particularly in early childhood education and school-age child care. She currently works for the YMCA of Greater Seattle as regional director of Early Childhood Education and Child Care, and has previously worked as executive of the Federal Way Norman Center, a para-educator in all grades, and as a middle school social studies teacher. She earned a master of arts degree in education and a bachelor of arts degree in human services, both from California State University. Angela is an active member of the Federal Way Chapter of Rotary International and is a 2009 Chamber of Commerce Advancing Leadership graduate.E-mail the Board
