Day 1 Count by 2's, 3's, 5's, 10's. Look at the pattern. |
Day 2 Write numbers from 0 - 100. Look for patterns and repetition. |
Day 3 Look at the clock (analog). Talk about the hour and minute hands. Draw pictures to show the way the clock would look for hours, then half hours, then 15 minute increments, to minute increments. |
Day 4 Write the date in numbers the following ways: 1/15/98 and June 15, 1998 |

Day 5

Day 6 Make a list of animals. Put one on each card. Play 20 questions with your family or friends. All questions must relate to size, color, food choices, habitat, or any other characteristic common to animals. |
Day 7 Use heavy paper to make stencil patterns of shapes (e.g., circle, triangle, oval, square, rectangle). Trace patterns to make a pattern. Color the pattern. Draw a shape. Have your child find things in the house that are that shape. |
Day 8 Read "Grandfather Tang's Story" by Ann Tompert. Make tangrams to practice making the animals in the story. Make your own things or animals using the tangrams. |

Day 9 Write numbers to 100. Color the even numbers red. Color the odd numbers green. Look at the patterns. |
Day 10

Day 11 Cut things such as shapes, cookies, and candy into 1/2, 1/3, 1/4. |
Day 12 Practice measuring in inches. Use things you can find in the house and a ruler. |

Day 13 Weigh objects in the house on a scale (bathroom or kitchen food scale). Estimate weights first, then weigh and compare to see if you made a good estimate. |

Day 17 Read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. Talk about the days of the week and sequence or cycle. Make a set of cards to sequence the days of the week. Extend to the months of the year. Ask what day is today? What day was yesterday? What day will tomorrow be? |
Day 18 Play a time estimating game. How long does it take to eat lunch, brush your teeth, go shopping for groceries, draw a really nice picture, play outside with a friend, ride your bike to a friend's house, clean your room, count to 100, etc. Guess first in minutes. Then do the activity and time yourself. |
Day 19 Make clock faces with only numbers. Write time below the clocks. Your child fills in the time. Start with hours, then half hours. etc. |
Day 20 Set up your own store from things in the house. Put price tags on items. Make play money or use real money. Have your child use the money to buy items. Children who are capable can make change and fill out sales receipts. Make a list of things you can buy for a dollar, $5.00, $10.00, etc. |

Day 21 Keep a record of how tall you are and how much you weigh. Check to see how much you have grown in height and weight periodically throughout the year. Did you seem to grow more during a particular month or season? |
Day 22 Find objects in the house that your child can sort, classify, and graph (e.g., buttons, money, different kinds of macaroni, rocks, etc.) |
Day 23 Put a pencil or other object on the table. Have your child name five things that are longer and five things that are shorter than the pencil or object. |

Day 25 Make or bake a favorite treat. Have your child do all the measuring (e.g., jello, muffins, cake, cookies). |
Day 26 Play Bingo. Work with your child to learn the letters and numbers and know how to make a Bingo across, up and down, and diagonally. |
Day 27 Talk about symmetry. We see symmetry on each side of our bodies. A butterfly has symmetrical wings. Draw a shape such as a heart, circle, square, etc., and have your child draw a line to show the symmetry. Talk about things that are not symmetrical. |
Day 28 Write several numbers. Have your child order them from the smallest to the largest (e.g., 29, 14, 63, 59 = 14, 29, 59, 63)
