Fourth Grade Learning Expectations
The learning expectations listed below are for fourth grade. Students will be assessed based on their progress toward meeting these grade-level expectations.
Music Expectations
1. The student acquires the knowledge and skills necessary to create, to perform, and to respond effectively to the music.
- 1.1 Performs the following musical skills: reads and performs rhythmic an melodic notation; sings a pentatonic scale, rounds and canons; identifies first and second endings; and performs expressive marking in music; and creates question and answer phrases.
2. The student applies the creative process with music knowledge and skills to reason and solve problems.
- 2.1 Uses musical knowledge and vocabulary to describe and analyze the effectiveness of musical works in media.
- 2.2 Practices presentation, craftsmanship, and evaluation skills by participating in small and large-group creative activities.
3. The student uses music to communicate ideas and feelings.
4.The student understands how music connects to other subject areas, life, and work.
